On August 4, 2020, at the end of the afternoon, two explosions occurred at the site of the port of Beirut in Lebanon – H.E Bilal Ghamraoui, Vice- President of the UNF, was on site.
The latest report shows at least 100 dead and 3,700 injured, but everything suggests that it is set to increase.
Mr. Christophe Giovannetti, President of the Union Nations Federation (UNF), and all the members of the organization wish to send their most sincere condolences to the families of the victims. The UNF also sends its most affectionate thoughts to the entire Lebanese population affected by this tragedy.
After managing the health emergency, Lebanon, a country friendly to France, already mired in an unprecedented crisis, will once again have to assume the socio-economic consequences of such
a disaster. France has already provided moral and material support to this country and will undoubtedly continue to do so in the future. For its part, the UNF has already been working for several months on solutions to improve the daily life of the Lebanese.
For more than two months our organization has set up a think tank to help Lebanon cope with an unparalleled crisis and help the Lebanese population which has been suffering for years.
